Kind ofsrsly lol. here’s what happened @ DC according to me
- found out last minute that Northstar @ Marvel was getting married
- called a halfassed brainstorm for a PR stunt they could pull that would get them media attention of equal caliber without being overly progressive (god forbid)
- ignored/forgot existing and mostly benched queer characters (as usual)
- continue pandering to ~core target audience~ by picking a character 96% of people don’t give a single shit about (sry but it’s true….)
- added fluffy words like ‘icon’ to their press release for maximum attention baiting
- wait for pats on the back and standing ovations.
