All the schway things
which while away my time,
and then some.
hollywood sure has an easy time finding brown and black people to play terrorists, thugs, drug dealers, gangsters, servants, “barbarians”, hypersexualized or desexualized caricatures but all of a sudden you need a lead role and
gosh where did they go i swear we put them here right after zero dark thirty??
Charlie Jane Anders on Superman’s current love life, 12 Things That Ruined Superman (io9)
This is the big thing I think a lot of people trying to crack the Superman code miss. The guy is all powerful. You can’t approach his character like you would most heroes. He’s GOT to have something stable. His parents. Lois. Even Chloe or Jimmy or Jane or whomever his BFF is. These characters are what make him human.
- Holding down a job is not a measure of value.
- Attending school is not a measure of value.
- Whether or not you can “contribute” to society is not a measure of whether or not your life is valuable and worth preserving.
These are standards held up by a society values money and production over everything else. If you think life has any less value or worth because of an inability to do any of the above you re fucking wrong.
Being body positive doesn’t mean you have to find every body type attractive. It’s okay to not find thin girls attractive, or only be attracted to meaty boys. It’s also okay to not find fat girls attractive, or to only be attracted to skinny boys. Or anything in between! Just as long as you recognize that it’s only your personal preference and not some kind of fundamental flaw in people you don’t find attractive, you’re golden.
Needs to be repeated… everywhere.
Barack Obama addressing Todd Akin’s remarks on rape this past weekend x
you never really know someone until you play uno with them and the motherfuckin asshole hits you with a draw four
Uno: Survival of the evil bitchiest.
It’s okay DC
At least you sort of tried
srsly lol. here’s what happened @ DC according to me
- found out last minute that Northstar @ Marvel was getting married
- called a halfassed brainstorm for a PR stunt they could pull that would get them media attention of equal caliber without being overly progressive (god forbid)
- ignored/forgot existing and mostly benched queer characters (as usual)
- continue pandering to ~core target audience~ by picking a character 96% of people don’t give a single shit about (sry but it’s true….)
- added fluffy words like ‘icon’ to their press release for maximum attention baiting
- wait for pats on the back and standing ovations.
My name is spelled Brittany… Not Brittney, not Brittanie, not Brittni, not anything else!! Is it that hard?? /endminirant

A quick tribute to Joe Quinones’ amazing talent for drawing boobs.
Do I even need to explain myself on this one? It’s just so novel to see a male artist working for the Big Two who is perfectly aware of how breasts fall, how they move, how they look supported and unsupported. AND HEY IT MAKES HIS ART EVEN SEXIER FANCY THAT
Reblogging because HEY LOOK BOOBS THAT LOOK RIGHT AND VARIED AND DIFFERENT OMG.
Plus I like the line quality, so there.
Seriously, this above example makes me happy, because there’s distinct understanding of physics, weight, support and not depending on the outfit, and then how the outfit actually interacts with the breasts, meaning that the fabric is stretched between them, it doesn’t form into boob pockets like way too many supposedly skin tight suits we see in comics. I love this with much love.
I love it when boobs look like actual boobs.
